Hi there,

We’re applying for citizenship soon and we all have ILR (wife, daughter and stepson included). My step sons bio dad doesn’t live in the UK but is named on his South African birth certificate. When applying for citizenship, will we need his bio dads signature to apply for citizenship or his details (I.e passport copy and permission in writing)?

Likely yes. Not the passport, but his consent.

Do you think a letter of some kind could be added as additional info? As we couldn’t get the father to sign anything
