Hello moderators, I hope you are well.
my mother and my siblings including me have just gotten our ILR (thanks for all your help) my father got his citizenship through the tier 1 entrepreneur route last year. I know that my mother can apply right now for citizenship as she is the spouse of a British citizen and does not have to wait for 12 months. Me and one of my sibling's are currently over 18 and we have a younger brother who is 15 so I am wondering if we have to wait 12 months after ILR before we can be eligible for naturalisation or can we be as dependents on her mother's application. In regards to my younger brother if he is not on my mother's application is there a separate application for dependents under 18 to naturalise or the same as it normal naturalisation application or is it mandatory for him to be a dependent on my mother's app ?. Thanks in advance

There is no dependent concept for naturalisation. It is not an immigration application and has it’s own requirements.

Your mother can apply now as spouse of a British citizen, child under 18 can apply for registration with her (added at the end of mother’s application and system will adjust to form MN1). Subject to all requirements met.

Adult children (over 18) apply for naturalisation after 12 month, subject to all requirements met,

All applications are assessed individually.

Hi Thank you so much for your reply, in regards to standard wait times these days, is there any information. Heard there was a huge backlog due to Ukrainian refugee applications.

Still up to 6months sometimes more.
Others are also getting their decisions quicker in some cases.
