Folding Naturalisation certificate to send to HMPO (And receiving it back)

Post by rubyracer2 » Sat May 06, 2023 6:14 pm

Dear Gurus,

While applying for first adult passport after naturalisation, is it ok to fold the naturalisation certificate while sending the documents?

If I send the certificate without folding (in a A4 DO NOT FOLD Envelope), will HMPO return it without folding as well.

Kindly advise! Thanks in advance

It is an important document and should not be folded.
It will be returned to you without being folded.

Thanks AmazonianX , do I need to enclose a full size return envelope for HMPO to use to return the certificate. I will pay the secure delivery extra charge

Hi Amazonian, this is a bit of a silly question, but how do I send a A4 envelope to the Passport Office enclosed inside the A4 envelope that I send my naturalisation certificate to them. These are board backed envelopes so the same size wont fit into another.

Should I send them in an even larger size (A3) which will fit both my naturalisation certificate and A4 return envelope.

Thanks in advance

Note that thr self addressed envelope from the post office for first class return are made of polythene/nylon material and can be folded and will accommodate an A4 document easily.

Good shout. I'll send them the silver envelope and hope they use that to return my documents. Thanks
