hi,
i am waiting for naturalisation ceremony from council as my my naturalisation application approved from homeoffice..
After that i am planning to apply for my first british passport.
but my indian passport expired 2 days ago.
do i need to have a valid indian passport to apply for british passport?
or can i use my expired indian passport ?
please advise..

it says
Documents you need to send us
All applications need:
2 recent identical photos (which meet photo
guidelines – see photo guidance section)
Your last British passport or any valid passports
that were issued in another country.

so just want to double check as india does not allow dual nationality and after attending the naturalisation ceremony , it is impossible to renew indian passport..

As advised just provide your expired passport. This is not about immigration matters, HMPO check whether your other travel documents show the same name. No issue they will return all documents. They are not concerned with Indian requirements.
