Dear members,

I have recently got ILR approved for myself and my partner this year. Now we are looking to commence the Naturalization process for our daughter who was born in UK 4 years back and has via as dependant child (currently valid till Jun 2025). I have following questions need your help to decide on next steps:

1. As we both now have status as settled, is current dependent child visa still holds?
2. Can we use the child dependent visa to travel to India given the original primary sponsor is no settled?
3. For how long we can wait before applying the naturalization?
4. We are using MN1 form, is this the correct one?
5. Once we commence the naturalization process, can she travel outside the country or we have to wait till the decision is received?

It would be very helpful to decide on future plans and could probably prevent from summer break being ruined as she is very keen to visit India.

Yes.

Is now settled or not settled? If former, yes; if latter, who was the sponsor then?

For however long you want (you don't have to naturalize her), but if you don't do it before child turns 18, the easy way (MN1) will be gone and she'd have to naturalize on her own, with LITUK, B1 test and so on.

You can leave the country as naturalization is in progress.

Yes


Primary Sponsor is now settled. So this means she can use the existing dependent child visa for travel

We are not planning to wait for long, as soon we return from India we will apply
