My name is xxxxx xxxxxx. I'm a British citizen by naturalization (2012). I wanted to know if i Can apply for British citizenship for my kids who were born in India and are staying in India with their mothe. my daughter is almost 4 years old and my son is few months old.

My kids were born after 2018.

First of all, don't use your name in open forum (if that's your real name), forums are frequented by many people including scammers, etc.

Your children are British as they were born to you after you became British - so don't need to apply for citizenship.
They can apply for a passport direct to HMPO - online here: https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports
Note though as your children were born abroad they cannot pass British citizenship to their own children born abroad, when the time comes.

If I understand everything right, you should be able to apply for their passport as the kids are British by descent. Keep in mind they won't be able to pass it to the next generation.

Children of British citizens, wherever they are born, will be automatically British and don't need to apply or register at all. Go straight for British passport - note however that child passport applications from abroad can take a few months.

If they were born on or after 1st July 2006
Your child may automatically get a British citizenship if:

they were born on or after 1st July 2006, and
one of their parents was a British national when they were born, and
their British parent was able to pass down their citizenship. This means their British parent was either born or adopted in the UK, gained citizenship after applying for it in their own right, or worked as a Crown servant at the time the child was born

Getting citizenship for a child born outside of the UK
If a child is born abroad and at least one of their parents is a British national, they are classed as a British citizen by descent. However, a baby in this scenario isn’t automatically granted UK citizenship unless they are also born on UK soil, and qualify for British citizenship by birth. In order to claim their citizenship by descent, they must first be registered as a British national.

To register a child as a British citizen, a parent can apply using the application form MN1. This must be done before the child or young person has their 18th birthday.

I was planning to apply for a spouse visa. I should apply for kids passport first because it might take longer time.

Is it better to apply for a British passport or certificate of entitlement to the right of abode?
I heard that to apply for a British passport it can take 6-12 months.

Do I need to be with my kids when applying due to me providing the original documents e.i naturalisation certificate?

I was trying to apply for a spouse visa through the cash savings route. Is it better to sort out my kids citizenship and then apply for a spouse visa?

A passport is better than ROA in my view, cheaper in the long run, but probably takes longer than ROA.
For passport you need to submit originals as required, direct to HMPO in the UK, by mail.
Not familiar with ROA application.

They would need a non-British passport to apply for a CoE-RoA.

A CoE-RoA is much more (I think four times as) expensive than a British passport and has a more limited validity than a British passport (it is limited to the validity of the non-British passport it is inserted into).

But it can be issued faster than a British passport.

You complete the application online and a list of documents should be generated together with the address to use for the documents. HMPO always require original documents.

Hi,

1 - My son was born outside the UK in 2017. I didn't have Citizenship or ILR at that time.
2 - My wife and my son arrived in the UK in September 2019 (Tier 1 Dependant Joiner). My son was 2 years old when he arrived, Now he is 6 years old
3 - I got ILR in 2020 and then Citizenship in 2021.
4 - My wife and my son got an extension in 2021. (which is until March 2024).
5 - Until March 2024 their total stay will be 4 years and 6 months.

My question is what I can apply next for them?
Do I still need to apply for their extension in March 2024?
Can I apply for ILR or Citizenship for my SON before his 5 years in UK?

What is required other than (Life to remain in UK) for my wife to apply for ILR when she completes here 5 years?

Yes - they have to have legal stay.

No. Citizenship concession only works for children born in the UK. Children born abroad settle (get ILR) when both parents get ILR.

English language test; possibly something else, others will advise.
