Name change After Naturlization

Dear all,

Hope all is well. I am a Naturalised BC and currently I'm changing my Name, havent submitted the Deed poll yet.

My question is, When I called UKVI, the first person advised me to request a Naturalization certificate with Deed poll and and get a new Naturlization certificate issued with new name. When I called second person 2 days after, they said, Name change doesnt impact Naturalization Certificate and they wont issue a new one as is always held in original name.

I am baffled now with the 2 answers. Please advise whats the best course of action I need to take, and I pressume, once I have the Deed poll, that is good enough to request for a new passport and send the old passport in?

Please advise/help.

Many thanks

Kind regards

The naturalisation certificate is never changed. Your deed poll certificate is proof of name change for passport and other purposes.

Thank you so much for super quick response alterhase58.

does it mean, I just have to send the Deed poll into HMPO for new passport?

Thanks once again and really appreciate :)

Would this be your first passport after naturalisation. Then include the naturalisation certificate and deed poll of course.

I got my BC passport already with old name/current name, so when I change name should I just send in my old passport and Deed poll, or Deed pool + BC passport + Naturalization Certificate?

Once again many thanks :)
