Appling for Naturalisation - 4 question

Hi,

I am applying for British Citizenship after 5 years (Tier-2) and 1 year ILR, Non EU, (myself, wife, 2 dependants) and I have a few questions:

1- What would be the proof or 5-years of residency? are our passports for that period and ILR sufficient?
2. They want a letter of consent for our son (under 18)! from whom? we are his parents and legal guardians
3. Do I need to fill all the travel info (for the past 5 years) in the online form, similar to what we did for the ILR
4. What is exactly the rule on I have to be in country 5 years on the submission date, seems odd, since I have been here 6 years.

Thanks

A

Thank you so much

I am still not clear on the last question;

I read that "An important requirement you should pay attention to is that you need to have been physically present in the UK at the beginning of the 5 years residence period i.e. the day the HO receives your application 5 years back. This is a pass/fail test and the HO has no discretion with this requirement"

Whys does that mean?

- I arrived to the UK on 12/9/17
- I got my ILR 31/8/22
- I am applying for Citizen ship on 1/9/23

Does that mean I need to check if I was in the UK in 1/9/22 and the few days after that?

One last question, Can I travel after applying?

Regards

Ayman

No, 5 years. Subtract 5 years from the date you're planning on applying.

f you are applying under section 6(1), you must have been in the UK exactly 5 years before your application was received. For example, if your application is received on 05/01/2022 you should have been physically present in the UK on 06/01/2017.
