Oversea Travel before/after the Ceremony

Many thanks to this forum and everyone who has contributed, I just got the approval for British citizenship :D

I was planning to attend the next available ceremony to get the certificate then apply for British passport. I got the impression that 'Once you have a British passport you must use this to enter the UK.'

Now I may need to visit an elderly family member overseas shortly. It's not that they are serious ill or dying but to better use my scheduled time off. As it may be too late if I only get my British passport up-to-2 months after application. I'm wondering:

1: If I should travel with my original passport (Taiwanese) plus current BRP, and attend the ceremony after I return to the UK (I know it should be within 3 months of the approval). Will the custom question the situation and refuse the entry to the UK?

2: I can still attend the ceremony to get the certificate first then travel overseas with my Taiwanese passport and BRP. Apply for British passport when I return to the UK (But I thought once I get the citizenship certificate my BRP will be invalid then I won't have valid visa to enter the UK, it's also risky to carry citizenship certificate with me while traveling)

I had tried to find the relevant information in the forum but no luck, any insights and suggestions are appreciated!

Option 1 is your best option.

You are only British once you attend the ceremony. Until then your BRP card remains valid so unsure why you believe you might have an issue entering the UK.

Thanks for your reply! The journey to get the citizenship hasn't been smooth guess that's why I'm overthinking. Just to confirm option 2 is not viable even if I have the citizenship certificate with me please?
