British citizenship from a deceased British father

I'm asking this on behalf of an acquaintance.
The person was born outside the UK before 2006 from a British father (born and raised in England from British parents) and a foreign mother (from South America). Both parents were married when the child was born.
The father's name is on the birth certificate of the person, the document was issued a few weeks after the birth (within the first year of the birth).
The father died about 10 years ago and the child never claimed British citizenship or was registered as such. The child has their father's birth certificate and an expired British passport of the father.
According to the British nationality website UKVI, the person "automatically" is a British citizen.
As far as I understand, the fact that the child is claiming British citizenship after the father is deceased doesn't matter, as long as the other requirements are met.
Q: Does this person still need to submit the same form UKF along with passport, both birth cert's? or being the father deceased means that they need to follow a separate process?
