Life in UK and English Test for 18 years old children

Hi,

My family including my daughter received ILR on Sep 2022 at that time her age was 17.

Now I am applying for UK naturalisation citizenship application for my family and my daughter's age is 18.

Could someone please clarify whether my daughter needs to take Life in Test and English Test now as mentioned in the application and guide me on how to complete the below questions,

Have you passed the Life in the UK test?
Did you meet the knowledge of English requirement as part of an indefinite leave application made on or after 28 October 2013?
Do you have a degree that was taught in English?
Have you passed an approved English language test?

Thanks & Regards
TMS

She need BOTH the LIUK test AND the B1 English test from an approved test provider before she applies.

Note that 18 year olds are adults under the law and for naturalisation need to satisfy all adult requirements, irrespective of having received ILR as a child. The tests need to have been passed before she applies.

Thanks for your reply.

My daughter has studied for 5 years in the UK, completed GCSE and 6th Form in the UK.

Could you please reconfirm whether he needs to do B1-English test despite that she studied English in both GCSE and 6th Form.

And also whether she needs to Life in UK test?

Your daughter needs both tests.
School qualifications are not accepted for naturalisation.
I assume she hasn’t yet got a degree from a UK university, which would exempt her from B1 only.

Hi,

For digital photo, whether photo code is must? Whether taking a photo using own camera is sufficient.

Please clarify.

Thanks & Regards,

Just a "passport style" photo required for each referee declarations, from your phone or photo booth.
Photo code is an option for when you apply for a British passport (after you have become British), separate application.

Hi,

For my naturalisation application, Do i have to scan and submit all the pages of passport including old passports that used for the last 5 years as proof of living in UK for 5 years? or only the first and last page with pages contains UK entry stamps?
For example, in one of my old passport has many pages with stamps since 2015 but I am living in UK from october 2017.

Please clarify.

Many thanks in advance.

You only need to scan passport(s) covering the residency period.
Scan personal data pages and stamped pages covering the period.

Naturalisation application question on parental responsibility

Hi,

While I was updating my online naturalisation application, under documents check list, they mentioned parental responsibility document needed from both the parents separately.

Can the child's birth certificate shall be considered as two documents i.e., one for each parent (mother/father)

as it says Proof of parental responsibility can include:
* A copy of the birth certificate
* A parental responsibility order, care order, adoption order or special guardianship order

Could someone please clarify.

Many thanks in advance.

Naturalisation application question on Digital Photo

Hi,

I took digital photo using my device for the naturalisation application.

The instructions says at least 600 pixels wide and 750 pixels tall and at least 50KB and no more than 10MB.

Also, it says do not crop your photo and it will be done for me.

My question is do I need to use this photo without cropping, for affixing the referee forms and I almost completed online form and about to submit as the next step, but until now there is no place to upload the digital photo.

Please clarify whether the photo upload will be a separate place, if so should I upload the original photo without cropping to the size 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm.

Thanks and Regards

Re: photograph
Not quite sure where you get the instructions for the photo to be attached to the referee declarations?
Sounds like a passport photo spec... This is not a passport application .... the referee confirms your identity for naturalisation.
The photo won't be used for anything else.

Re: parental responsibility
Your child is 18, therefore an adult so I'm surprised this is asked for.

Thanks for the clarification, there is a space for photo in the referee declaration form hence affixed the same and got the referee's signature in the form. As the document check list says I need to upload the same.

I have another question on the eligible date for online application submission.

I received my ILR application outcome as successful. From: Home Office Atlas Sent: Tue, 20 Sep 2022 09:21:58

In my ILR data of issue is mentioned as 21/09/2022

Please clarify from which date onwards I can submit my naturalisation application online.

Today is 21/09/2023, Am I eligible to submit?

Thanks for your support and help.
