I came in 2014 on tier 2 general visa back in those days English test is not required if your degree was taught in english correct, I think it changed in 2018 or 2019., then I did an extension then change of sponsor later I applied for ILR. I never did any english test, NARIC or ECCTIS letter. Now when I'm applying for naturalisation I couldn't submit the application unless I selected I had ECCTIS letter option. Now my question is it mandatory as without any english test or NARIC/ECCTIS letter as I got visa, ILR earlier without that. Naturalisation isn't a visa. The requirements are clearly different. Your immigration journey ends at ILR. Infact at the time of ILR I asked my solicitor if I need NARIC she clearly mentioned I don't need as they gave points for my english degreeand granted my visa.

1) Is it mandatory to have ECCTIS or SELT B1 test for naturalisation ? Mandatory, no way around it.
2) I selected ECCTIS letter optin while submission of my application but I heard from people it's easier to take SELT B1 test than undergoing the process of ECCTIS letter. can I now take the SELT B1 test and share that as an evidence instead of ECCTIS letter ? B1 is faster, easier and less fuss.

Thank you very much for your response. May you please confirm you're saying it doesn't matter although I had selected ECCTIS letter in the naturalisation app form I can simply submit the SELT B1 result.
