Registering a UK born child as British Citizen

I have a question about my sons eligibility for a BC. My son has been on tier 2 dependent visa since 2016 and I received my British citizenship and passport last month.

My wife has ILR and has applied for her naturalisation last week. Anyone who has had success with their kids BC application did your kids go from tier2 dependent visa to BC? Can I apply directly for my son to register as a BC and skip ILR or do I need to apply for his ILR first.

Any help is appreciated.

Children born in the UK do not need ILR. In most cases they can be registered as soon as at least one parent is settled. Their current immigration status is irrelevant as the registration is under BNA 1(3).
You should fill MN1 for them and submit the required evidence.
I believe many people done it in the past including myself.
