ECCTIS letter requirement

hi! I have found your conversation whilst looking for the exact same advice as what was posted above and was hoping I could get a little help.

I have applied for my citizenship via naturalisation. I hold a UK ILR currently & have done the B1 english language test as a requirement for the IRL.

I am now being asked for the ECCTIS letter and not sure if I need to provide this? I am fluent in english, studied in South Africa in English and have a Bachelors Degree but I dont understand why I need to provide this if I have the B1 certificate as that is proof? Do they need proof of my having a degree?

Essentially my question is exactly as what was posed above - is this a solid requirement and if not provided will my application be rejected?

Any advice would be so helpful! This process is very stressful & trying to navigate everything alone is slightly overwhelming.

Thank you!

The preferred method of posting is to start your own thread rather than tagging onto someone else's topic. This is fairer and makes moderating easier. I will put this in a separate thread for you.

You don't need to use your degree.
You can rely on the B1 test used for ILR.
What option did you tick? Have you ticked the option relying on B1 for ILR?

Essentially my question is exactly as what was posed above - is this a solid requirement and if not provided will my application be rejected? No & No - all you need is to rely on B1 for ILR. Just because you have a degree doesn't mean you have to use it.

Appreciate it - most of us have been through it but we got approved in the end.

Thank you!
