registering a child born abroad as a citizen

Hi,
A few questions about using the mn1 form to register a child under 8 after 5 years on tier 2 amd ilr for over a year (both parents similarly on ilr).

1. The form asks about previous immigration applications, asking for reference number and date of application, if known.
I'm not sure what the reference number is exactly and there are different numbers appearing on the correspondence I've had with the HO over the years.

Is providing the year for each application sufficient if I am unsure of date and which number is the correct reference?

2. The declaration part of the form is asking if I am the applicant or a representative of the applicant who has discussed the application with the child. Since the child is 8 and I am filling in the form for them, neither of these seems accurate (also I am a parent, not a lawyer or advoser) but is putting I am the representative more accurate here? I've seen different answers to this on this forum.

Thank you

The child is the applicant not you!
Application dates should be fine if you don’t have further details.
