Passport you entered the country with...

Hi guys,

Apologies if this is a dumb question
For the British passport application it says I need to send them the passport I entered the country with.

The one I came to the UK on, the one with the travel vignette, is now expired. Do I need to send them that anyway as well as the current passport. Or just the current one?

Family of 3 with 3 expired and 3 current passports, so wondering if I need to post all 6 of them!

Thanks for taking the time

Yes, you need to send all current and passports that have not been cancelled. A cancelled passport is clipped/cut and stamped cancelled. An expired passport is generally not a cancelled passport.

thanks that's helpful,
the Indian govt though, when they issue you a new passport to replace the expired one stamp cancelled and cut the edge off the old passport, so all indian expired passports are cancelled
i might as well send them all in anyway

thanks
