Additional inputs

We are all unpaid volunteers on the forum and all have normal day jobs unrelated to the forum!!

Yes you can apply to Register the children (only adults are naturalised) once they have ILR.

Thank you so much ..... and really appreciate the fact that you and all in this group have been always helpful even after you all guys have day jobs to take care

It was just me being anxious about the response.

Just one clarification ...

Can i apply for registration as soon as my kids have their ILR or should i wait for 12 months ?

Thanks in advance

Hello Team,

My kids got the ILR and I am planning to apply for naturalisation.

A couple of clarifications required

1- Under which category should my kids apply for registration (You were born outside the UK)

  • Your parent is British by descent and lived in the UK or a British Overseas territory for at least 3 years before you were born

Your parent is British by descent and you and your parents (unless they are legally separated) are now living in the UK or a British Overseas territory

You were born on or after 13 January 2010 and your parent was serving in the UK armed forces

You were adopted abroad by British citizen parents

You were born before 1 July 2006 to a British father and your parents were not married

One or both of your parents is applying for British citizenship

Other - apply at the discretion of the Home Secretary

Just last 2 cateogeries are applicable to me - I had applied for naturalization, so should i use "One or both of your parents is applying for British citizenship" or Other - apply at the discretion of the Home Secretary[/list]?

I tried filling up application with both options - when i select "One or both of your parents is applying for British citizenship". The form asks about the travel history in the last 5 years but if i select "
Other - apply at the discretion of the Home Secretary" . it doesnt ask for travel history .

2- So question - if I select "One or both of your parents is applying for British citizenship " since it asks for 5 years of travel history I am in doubt whether my kids need to wait for 1 year before they can apply for registration

Thanks

It is the last option, "Other" for children born abroad applying on their own.
