Registration of non-UK born child as citizen by ILR parents

Hello all,

One of my friends has held ILR for more than one year now, as well as their partner and their non-UK born child. Could they now register their non-UK-born child as a British citizen alone? Or must one of the parents register to become a citizen together with this child?

If the latter condition applies, would it be better for the mother to register together with the child or it should be the father? The mother is currently receiving child benefits for their child. And which online form should they use to register for citizenship, please?

Many thanks in advance

This option.

Either, makes no difference.
The mother is currently receiving child benefits for their child.
This is completely irrelevant.
And which online form should they use to register for citizenship, please?
Form AN for parent, add child where the form indicates and the form will adjust for the child once added (form MN1).
