Hi All,

I am eligible and applying british citizenship Jan next year. I had couple of questions if you could help with the answer. Thanks in advance

1. My child was born before I received my ILR. Is my child eligible for citizenship after I receive my British citizenship and can we apply together.

2. My wife has independent sponsorship since last 3 years. Will she be eligible for citizenship once I receive mine.

No. She needs to get ILR first. She can apply straight away after ILR and on the basis of 3 years, but ILR is needed.

Was the child born in the UK or abroad?

She will need to follow whatever pathway she is on till ILR. There is no naturalisation without ILR for adults.

Once she has got ILR, she can apply to naturalise as the spouse of a British citizen, provided she meets the absence and other requirements.
