Mistake on naturalisation application help!

Hi everyone,

I just realised (18 hours before the biometric appointment) that I had given the wrong place of birth on my AN form. Essentially, I wrote country name for both country of birth and place of birth. I have two options as I see it:
1) Cancel the biometric appointment, and withdraw application. And create and submit a new application.
2) Write a cover letter and submit it with the supporting documents and explain the mistake.

What should I do guys? I am so devastated.

If I were too cancel and withdraw my application. Can I submit another application straight away or should I wait?

Thank you, my biggest concern is that when they print out the certificate it is gonna have the place of birth wrong. Should I be worried about that?

If you have corrected it as suggested how will that happen. Do note that your application is no just taken at face value but in consonance with other documents you supply and record that they have. Where there is any contradiction you will be asked to clarify.

They will double check all your documents (your city of birth is on your passport I imagine). Worst that happens you can apply for a correction of the certificate for free if they make a mistake (someone at my citizenship ceremony had to do that because of a typo on their certificate). Upload a cover letter to explain your mistake as suggested, good luck with the appointment!

OP's application is probably still being processed as the cover letter was likely uploaded in December.
