MN1 Application

Hello respected members,

I'm in the process of applying to register my child as a british citizen using the form MN1. I'm in a bit of a predicament in relation to a requirement.

Firstly, in relation to one of the referees having worked with the child in a professional capacity. Now while I'm filling in the application online, it is asking me for personal details for the referee; such as their date of birth, passport number and residential address. Although the school head teacher has agreed to act as a referee, I very much doubt they'll be comfortable in sharing details of such personal nature. Any advice on the matter would be extremely appreciated.

Also, if anyone is aware, could you please share how do we book an appointment to enrol biometrics? Do you have to go through sopra steria or is it the post office?

Regards.

Apologies to have forgotten the second question regarding the same application.

My wife is a british citizen and I have indefinite leave to remain. One of the question while filling in the application online is :

Date this parent / legal guardian became settled in the United Kingdom

Now for my wife who has since acquired british citizenship, am I supposed to add in the date when she naturalised or the date when she was granted indefinite leave to remain?

Regards

You need to ask the headteacher's personal details. If they decline, ask them to put it in writing. you can find another professional referee that knows you and the child (eg family friend) and explain in a cover note that you asked a professional that knows your child and they declined, this is an issue UKVI is aware of.

You will be directed to register for UKVCAS to enrol biometrics.

You need the date the parent was granted ILR for settlement.

Note that the family friend has to be a Professional as well. No escaping that.
