Oil spill on Naturalisation Certificate

Unfortunately oil was accidentally spilled on my naturalisation certificate and I’ve yet to apply for a passport. It’s a minor spill on the bottom corner. None of the text is affected. Will my passport application get refused?

I think it's best you call the HMPO Helpline and explain - on the face of it it shouldn't be an issue as it's not been defaced or physically damaged. Not something we could answer, unless someone here had a similar issue.

Hard to say - you can call the passport adviceline but ultimately the decision will be with the caseworker that reviews your application. You can request a new certificate here
https://www.gov.uk/get-replacement-citi ... ertificate (costs £250).
