Hello!
Wishing everyone a Merry Xmas...hope someone can kindly assist.

As part of my spouse's citizenship application checklist:
Ecctis letter that confirms the qualification meets or exceeds the recognised standard of a Bachelor's or Masters degree or PhD in the UK AND confirm the level of English to which the degree was taught or researched

The degree certificate for spouse to prove the level of English language required

***
She has successfully completed GESE Grade 5 (B1) earlier this year as part of an ILR and I was under the assumption this was enough to satisfy the English language requirement for naturalisation also.

Looking at the 2 questions in the application that - I have said yes to both below

English language
Have you provided evidence of your English language ability in a previous application? Yes

Personal information
Did you meet the knowledge of English requirement as part of an indefinite leave application made on or after 28 October 2013? Yes

**
I still get the below questions which
English language
Do you have a degree that was taught in English? Yes
Country your degree was taught in: India
Does your degree meet the English language requirement for this visa? No
What will you use to prove your degree taught in English? Degree certificate

When I get through the checklist I get the ask for Ecctis letter.

If the B1 is enough - Please how do I stop the checklist asking asking for the Ecctis certificate?

Thanks in advance.

You should have answered NO to the degree question if using B1 test.

Thank you so much for your swift reply!

As her degree was taught in English, if she puts NO to the below question, is that not a false claim (even if minor)

Do you have a degree that was taught in English? NO

All sorted now - thanks a million - saying no actually took me through a different set of questions which was intuitive but saying NO at the start was not :-)

It's not a statutory requirement that you disclose you have a degree taught in English.
If you have a B1 you are fine, This is about how you are meeting the English requirement.
