Citizenship after ILR

Good Morning,

I would like to give a brief history. I have just received my ILR. Received BRP yesterday. I am married to British Citizen. Have not been out of UK apart from 10 days in 2022. Date I entered UK was 8th December 2018.

Below are my questions:

1. Can I apply for Naturalization straight away?
2. I have not other evidence that I was in UK 3 years back apart from my passport as I was not employed from December 2020 to Feb 2022. Will my passport be enough to prove residency

2. I have not other evidence that I was in UK 3 years back apart from my passport as I was not employed from December 2020 to Feb 2022. Will my passport be enough to prove residency Yes - the date you were present in the UK 3 years back doesn't need to be proven.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I have used UK Naric statement for ILR. Hope that same statement should be ok to use for Naturalization.

On the application form there are questions regarding parent details. Just to reconfirm is it applicants parents details.

As they have never asked them before. This question is immediately after question do have any children whose birth parent is not your partner hence bit confusing.

It ask for expiry date of BRP card. I have ILR which has no expiry but on my BRP card expiry date is 31.12.2024.

What date should I write on application form or just write N/A

Straightforward question answer = 31.12.2024, didn't ask for ILR expiry.

You are not making an immigration application.
Naturalisation has it's own requirements, don't try and compare with immigration!

You can choose any council you want when you apply. You can't change this after you have applied.

Hi,

I have my biometric appointment today. After unloading the signed referral form, do we need to submit the signed forms to UKVCAS at the time of biometric or anywhere Hard copy ? I guess yes, otherwise who/how will someone read the name/DOB written opposite the picture on the declaration form?

You just upload it, no hard copy sent anywhere.
The back of photo instructions are a leftover from the paper days.
So No.
In any case if it's written next to the photo it will show on the scan.

Note UKVCAS are not the Home Office.
