Hello,
Did anyone get the citizenship with a caution on their record?
I will start the process soon and wonder what a re the chances to succeed.
I got a conditional caution in 2021. Offence assault.
I saw the new rules for good of character requirements and doesn't specify a period witch has to pass like with the old rules.
Anyone any advice?? Will be much appreciated.
Thank you!

I assume you have been through this document:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... racter.pdf
What is a "conditional caution" - would you get custodial if you offended again, and how long in force?
I don't have direct experience of this but I would think it would be useful/helpful to your case that first of all you disclose the offence, give details as to how it came to it, and explain how you you have fared since then, have you reformed yourself, attended some kind of help programme, done some community volunteering?
From my understanding, anything which doesn't get an automatic refusal, will be considered on the "balance of probabilities" - so if it was the only offence ever and no offending in any way since then.
Clearly nobody here will guarantee you that you will be approved but if you want to go through with the application show that you have thought about this issue, be open. Others may add to this.

This is the only time a had to deal with police. No other offences.
Yes I will send them a cover letter and explain what happened.
Would it help if I do some volunteering work from now till june when I want to start the process?
Any other advice to improve the chances of being aproved will be much appreciated!

The rules have changed very recently in this regard so we don't have a wide array of cases with cautions. May I ask what kind of offence it was? If it has caused "serious harm" (page 15 of
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... racter.pdf) it is more difficult to build a convincing case. I would definitely try to go out of my way to show a positive change beyond not reoffending - any volunteering being a support person in your company and your community, would help. For tricky cases it is best to consult an immigration solicitor and get professional advice.

Hi,
Is not seriuous harm. I had read page 15 and those rules doesn't seem to apply to my caution.
ABH- actual body harm as I remember.

Without knowing more about your history it is difficult to help beyond this, I would advise speaking to a solicitor given the new rules change.

What solicitor?
Any recommendations?
What do you mean by knowing my history?

What I mean is we can't judge the seriousness of the offence, or if you have a pattern of reoffending, based on what you wrote in your post. We can't recommend solicitors on this forum, but there is an official list on the government website
