Need advice on Naturalisation Application

Hi
I applied for citizenship in October 2023 after ILR (Spouse of British citizen 5 years). I was born in the UK but I’m Iranian citizen. Today home office asked me to Confirm Place Of Birth in the UK! Considering I already provided this info in my application! I’m wondering why they asked! Do I need to provide any documents or just simply reply to their query is enough?
Last question is, do you have any idea roughly when I can expect a decision.
Many thanks for helping me.

Naturalisation is a nationality application, not under immigration and they won’t necessarily track down information. Also I suspect that immigration data may not necessarily be complete. Did they ask for place of birth and a document? You have your UK birth certificate? Scan and email.
You are still under the six months but you may be lucky you’ll get the approval once the have received the info.

Strongly suggest you send evidence proving your place of birth as asked. Standard processing times are 6 months from when you attended biometrics, so I would expect April-May 2024.

Hi thanks for getting back to me.
No they only asked me to confirm the city of birth. Didn’t ask for any documents. I don’t have a birth certificate as I was born 37 years ago and my dad left the UK couple of months later after I was born. Deadline on their email to respond was only 7 days (14th January).
Thanks

Hi Unfortunately I don’t have any evidence to show the city I was born in the UK! It’s strange they only asked that I confirm the city I was born in the UK rather than to show them a document! They only gave me 6 days to respond so I didn’t have time to apply to get a copy of my birth certificate! It’s been a month since I replied to their email but still waiting. Hopefully I hear from them soon.
Thanks
