Passport application after successful BC

Hi All,
We have received British citizenship certificate today for my son. He was on ILR which was obtained after 5 year completion on Tier 2 dependent.

He has a school trip planned 14-Feb, 24 and we need his British passport before that. Is standard online application a safe bet, or should we look to get this done using 1 week process?

He is under 16 so going for first child passport 1 week process is an option for us. Although given the current timelines it looks like standard online application will also work for us.

Any reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You have over a month. Standard processing timelines suggest that should be enough, if you want it quicker and are happy to spend the money go for the 1 week expedited application. It is your decision in the end.

To be on the safe side do the 1 week child passport application - you can start it off online. Standard online will likely take longer than one week. Certainly worth the extra money, for peace of mind.

Thanks a ton both for your replies. We have applied online and have sent documents yesterday. Siting with all fingers and toes crossed now.
