Hi All,
I was wondering if someone could guide me on applying British passport for my Son who is born in India

I am a British Citizen, my wife is Indian with ILR, we had our baby delivered in Indian in 2020, I took RoE-COE route to bring my family back in the UK.
I have question on applying my son's British Citizenship,
1.Do I have to apply through MN1 application first and then get his British passport? Or
2.Can I apply his British passport directly as he is British by Birth? and surrender his Indian passport

Much appreciated if someone could help me with the right process, thank you
AK

I have question on applying my son's British Citizenship, No need to apply, he is British!
1.Do I have to apply through MN1 application first and then get his British passport? Or Go straight to passport application > https://www.gov.uk/get-a-child-passport ... d-passport
2.Can I apply his British passport directly as he is British by Birth? Yes.and surrender his Indian passport Don't know about that.

Much appreciated if someone could help me with the right process, thank you

Many thanks Alterhase

I have got my son's British passport yesterday.
He doesn't have any document proof to show he is British like Naturalisation, birth certificate etc.. should I get him a proof in case if he need in future?

Kind Regards,
AK

His proof of being british by descent is through you being British, by presumably birth or naturalisation. There is no extra "proof" you can get for him.

Son will prove his citizenship (if required) through you, i.e. your naturalisation certificate.
So it's important your certificate is not damaged/defaced or laminated.
