Name Change for Citizenship

Hi,
I currently have ILR(M), just received in Dec 2023, and I am married to a British Citizen. I have been wanting to change my name to my married name, however I did not for the Visa due to complications and time frames.
My understanding is if I want to change my name to my married name for my Citizenship, I have to do so before making the application. As my BRP is in my maiden name, if I was to change my passport to my married name, would this affect the BRP?
If I continued to use my maiden name for the citizenship application, and once that is received, could I then change my name more easily?
TIA

I would recommend that you do the name change after becoming a British citizen.
You can change it before but you would have to change the BRP too.

Are you saying that the forgin passport would have to reflect the marriage surname but the OP can retain their maidan name on the BRP and yet be able to travel and re enter?

Yes,marriage cert indicates purpose of name change, mny have done this. The op is asking about citizenship though, not traveling.
