I recently completed the naturalization process, and I'm currently working on gathering the required documents. I have a question regarding the proof of living in the UK for the specified duration.

The guidance states:

"Proof of living in the UK for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen."

I arrived in the UK in December 2001 and held a leave to remain BRP. Could anyone guide me on the specific information I need to provide to prove my residence for the required 5 years?

As ILR holder your passport(s) with stamps covering the residency period (5 or 3 years) are sufficient.
No bill or statements. Your UK arrival is not relevant, and ILR is a requirement of course for the application.

Thank you for the reply. I have a nigerian passport. I only left the country twice 15 days & 3 days. 2020 & 2018/19.

Do you mean the stamps of those coutries?

I meant UK Border stamps - presumably they UK border check didn't stamp.
Do you have P60s or council tax bills? Those are quite common documents used if required.
Not sure what you mean by eduction? Perhaps letters from uni confirming your attendance?

If i can get document from my university. 2019-2022 Will this work. And maybe my secondary and college

You need evidence of residence for the last 5 years, so 2019-2024. Did your passport get stamped when you left the country/reentered? If so your passport(s) covering the last 5 years are all the evidence of residence you need.

If it covers the qualifying period (last 5 years if applying in your own right, 3 years if married to a British citizen) you don't need any other evidence of residence. Scan your passport (including stamped pages) and upload before you attend the UKVCAS appointment.

What does it mean by in your own right? Does this mean if im applying on my own

In this case it means if you are not married to a British citizen.

Yes, more than enough, passport on its own would suffice.

Is it ok to have only 1-2 stamps on the passport in the first 6 months of 5 years qualifying period?
