AN Application after 3 years on ILR - Self Employed

I am applying for a Naturalisation. I obtained ILR in Dec 2020 after 5 years on Tier 2. All other documents and requirements are fine but I recently went Self Employed starting my Limited company for IT contracting. One of the documents required is Tax Filing documents. I am not due to file my first self-assessment until 31 Jan 2025 (started self employment in Oct 2023). Is there a way to explain this to UKVI i.e., would a letter explaining the sitiuation suffice or does it need to be more formal.

You can explain in a letter (just the facts) scan and load with your other documents. Caseworkers will look at all documents.

It depends when you apply. You can fill in your first tax return in April 2024 - if you are applying after then, I suggest you fill in the tax return straight away without waiting for the final deadline of Jan 2025 and use those documents for the application. I applied in May 2023 and filed my taxes before I applied for the tax year 2022-2023 and enclosed those documents.

Thank you for your response. Its, just that I have already applied. I was however in full time employment until Sep 2023 and went self-employed Oct 2023, so would need to wait at least until the end of the tax year on 5th April to file tax return.

Then it's ok. Good luck with the application.
