child British Citizenship application with expired BRP

Hi,
My wife and I applied for ILR this month but did not include my child because she was born in the UK. I got an appointment on March 1st with a priority service. My daughter already has a PBS dependent visa and BRP which is expiring next month (on 28th Feb 2024) before our appointment for the ILR.

Perhaps we will get our ILRs in March when her visa expires and then we will apply for her BC. Is there any problem with that? does she need a visa extension first? Why there is no clear guidelines on GOV.UK regarding that?

NOTE: I knew some people raised the same issues two years ago but I thought the rules might have changed so I asked again.

Thanks,
Mo

No issues. A uk born child has an entitlment to register as british as the guidance says. A vaild visa or any visa is not required.

.
No changes. Nationality laws rarely change and are harder to change than immigration rules. This question is asked and answered very frequently on the forum.

No requirement for your child to get another visa BUT if that is what you choose to do child won't be eligible for using the NHS for free and you should arrange private medical insurance while you wait for the outcome.

Hi, We got our ILRs and now we are applying for my daughter's British Citizenship (She is 1.5 year, UK-born, Expired BRP on 28th Feb 2024). I am filling in the application for her and now struggling with this question ''Are you able to provide a biometric residence permit (BRP) card with this application'' Shall I respond ''No, I do not have a BRP for my most recent leave'' as the other options seem irrelevant: Yes, and it is valid; No, my BRP is lost or stolen; No, I have already sent my BRP to the Home Office. Her BRP has been expired. What do you think?
Thanks,
Mo

I also proceeded further with the ''No'' response and it says ''Do you have a BRP from a previous stay in the UK?'' the answer is YEs and then asks ''Can you provide this with your application?'' the answer is Yes again, So I assume the option I mentioned is correct. Right?

Hi I have the same query if my Children BRP is expired, do in need to provide cover letter stating that we applied for ILR on time with priority service but decision took time and Children BRP expired on 16th May.

Please advise. Also we have just received an email not BRP for ILR can we apply for Children Citizenship on that basis.

You should open your thread to ask questions. Anyway the same applies to you as to OP. Apply and explain the reason why you don't have a BRP - physical BRPs are being phased out anyway.

hello, i am in the same boat. I presume you chose the option 'No, i do not have BRP for my most recent leave' i will that too, but checking does it lead to any negative impact on the application? have you got the result? We got delayed as we were arranging references as per the guidelines. His key person a nursery was away and we had to find another person who was engaged in professional capacity with the child so that took time.

Explain the reason why don't have a BRP. No reason why that would delay the application.
