Dual citizen/cancellation of old passport additional documents requested

Dear all
Reading the timelines on passport, I saw one member describing that they were requested to "Dual citizen/cancellation of old passport additional documents requested". Could you please clarify to me what this would be? I am applying for my first passport tomorrow so would like to have the heads up for this.

With the naturalization certificate include your current and uncancelled passports. Note this is for checking the names used. HMPO will return all documents.

Thank you very much. I have already 2 citizenships so will be sending both passports with my application.

Simply include all original current passports, the checklist at the end of the online application will tell you what to send in the envelope.
