Naturalisation 12 months query

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well.

I am so confused reading many posts here and on the web and I appreciate your assistance concerning the following query.

I obtained ILR TWO Months BEFORE my husband became British. Considering the timing I got the ILR, I am still eligible to apply for naturalisation under section 6(2) as spouse of a British citizen meaning I do not have to wait 12 Months to apply.

Many thanks,

Sara

Yes.
Thanks for your reply, but a moderator here mentioned previously on a post by alterhase58 that : "Wife can apply now based on being spouse of British citizen if she satisfies all requirements.
What counts is that you were British at the time she gained ILR."

My husband was NOT British when I got ILR it was only two months later. Would I still be eligible for?

Thank you for your help and support

Kind regards,

Sara

What matters is YOU being married to a British Citizen when you APPLY for Citizenship yourself, even if you spouse became British just ONE day previously.

When you got ILR and how you got ILR is irrelevant.
