Hoping anyone can help clarify what I put in my application where it asks for absences and when I first arrived.
I will try to summarise:
I first arrive in 2007 and went back to home country to study my degree in 2010 ensuring I come back to UK so as not to lose my visa. Then i got my ILR as a dependant in 2011. Up to 2014 I have been back and forth in the UK until I graduated.
Sept 2014 I went back to the UK to live permanently with my family and work. I have been only outside the UK from the following years for holidays back home:
2017 - 23 days outside UK
2016 - 28 days outside UK
2015 - 43 days outside UK

I didn't apply for my citizenship back then due to being away.

I am now applying my citizenship after years past and aiming to submit around 30th March 2024 so my 5 year period I think starts from March 2019.
So from 2017 since I haven't been outside UK until recently 2nd Feb 2024 - 2nd March 2024 around 24 days outside UK.

I'm unsure whether I need to add my absences from 6 or more years ago and what 1st time arrive date I need to put in.

Do I need to include my days outside UK before 2019?

Currently I filled in the application as follows:
1st Time arrived in UK: Feb 2007 - Is this correct?
Absences: I only put 2nd Feb 2024 - 2nd March 2024 (Holiday,visit relatives). This was the only days I was away during the last 5 years.

Entry date in 2007 is OK if that is when your UK residence started (eg you left in 2010 and came back in 2012, you should put 2012)
Only absences during the 5 year qualifying period count. No need to include absences prior to that.

Note that 2 Feb - 2 March is 27 days (day of departure and return don't count)

Sorry I put the wrong date, it should be 6th of Feb - 2nd March.

So, I left in 2010 to study and only came back for holidays. My "permanent" return to UK is when I graduated in 2014. Would I put the 2014 date in the 1st time arrival question? This is when I returned to be with my family and work in the UK to date.

Yes it will be 2014 as this is the start of the continuous period culminating in the application you want to make.

You can state the earlier date in additional information section or cover note

I first arrived in 2007 as a dependent. In 2011, I obtained my ILR through my mother as a dependent. I studied abroad and come to back to UK for holidays numerous times. After I graduated in 2014, I came back to live permanently with my family and to work. Since, then I was only out of the UK a few times not more than 30 days each visits. My latest out of the country was on February 2024. In 2021, I bought a house and now have a 2 yr old son and intend to live in the UK permanently.
