Naturalisation Application Form Enquiries

Hello everyone here.
I am now preparing my naturalisation online application form and would like to seek some guidance/support on the below enquires. Thank you very much in advance.

1. I came to the UK for undergraduate study in 2010, but back to my home country in 2013, and then reentered the UK in 2014 and started to work in 2017, and I got my ILR last April based on a 5-year work visa. So for the first date of arrival in the UK question, would it be better to put the arrival date in 2014?
2. May I know the timeline for the application, one of my referees is now on a business trip, and will not be able to sign the declaration form. I am just wondering once I submit my application, will I need to provide all evidence materials immediately, if not, what about the time window for providing the documents?
3. My second professional referee is my previous supervisor at university, could that be sufficient?
4. For the referee declaration form, would it be paper copies only (passport photo attached), or electronic version is allowed? Do we upload and submit all evidence files online?
5. The required date for physical presentence in the UK five years ago, refers to the date of online application submission.

Thank you!

So for the first date of arrival in the UK question, would it be better to put the arrival date in 2014? Yes, put date where you came back permanently
2. May I know the timeline for the application, one of my referees is now on a business trip, and will not be able to sign the declaration form. I am just wondering once I submit my application, will I need to provide all evidence materials immediately, if not, what about the time window for providing the documents? You need to upload all electronic versions of the materials before you attend your biometrics appointment. You have to attend an appointment in 45 working days. Note that referees should date the form before the application date. Everything is digital these days, so maybe your referee could do the form digitally as far as their signature is consistent to what appears on their passport.
3. My second professional referee is my previous supervisor at university, could that be sufficient? If they are a lecturer or university professor (not just someone that teaches or does research, they have to be employed as lecturer/professor) it will be OK
4. For the referee declaration form, would it be paper copies only (passport photo attached), or electronic version is allowed? Do we upload and submit all evidence files online? See above. everything is digital.
5. The required date for physical presentence in the UK five years ago, refers to the date of online application submission. Yes. If you apply on the 5 May 2024 you need to have been in the UK on the 6 May 2019

Thank you!

Application form-Engligsh ability

Hi there,
Regarding the question, "Have you provided evidence of your English language ability in a previous application?", I answered yes because I recalled submitting my UK degree certificate for my master's student visa, Tier 2 visa, and ILR applications. Is that correct?

For the following text box "Tell us the previous visa, entry clearance, or leave to remain you had," should I simply list the visa types (e.g., student and work visas), or do I need to include specific visa details such as the BRP number?

Thank you very much.

Just select ILR, the last application you provided English proof. That’s all that is required, no need to list your via history for this.

Referee Declaration Form

Hi there,

May I confirm if my passport photo attached to the referee declaration form must be taken within the last 6 months?

Another thing, can I do the first page with my photo digitally attached and the second page with a scanned version (my referee printed it out and signed it?)

Many thanks and kind regards,

It should be a recent picture, but there is no stipulation on how recent it should be exactly. 6 months/1 year should.be fine if your appearance hasn't changed much. What you say regarding the forms will be fine as you will.upload both of them. Remember the signature has to be consistent with what appears on the referee passport.

Thank you so much for your suggestion. May I ask another question regarding the referee declaration form?
In the form, it states 'one referee should be a person of any nationality who has professional standing, and For all applications, the second referee must normally be the holder of a British citizen passport and either a professional person or over the age of 25.' But on the naturalisation form, when I added the referees' details, the first referee is required to be the British citizen, and the second one is the professional referee. How can I assign the forms, based on the order what I entered on the form? Thanks

It doesn't matter. Either order will be OK.

It does not matter in which order the forms are.
