Hi,
Firstly apologies for this question, I have read all the guidance from uk gov.
Question:
I got my ILR on 7th Mach 2024 and I am aware that you need to spend 12 months from the date of the approval of the BRP. My friend has told me that I can apply for the Naturalisation in the 9 month if i can show the strong ties like:
- Mortgage property I have
- My children goes to school
- Cover letter to explain this.
He got the same on this basis, my point is like how is this possible ? Kindly advise as if i follow 9 months than 7 December.
Regards

Unless you have extremely strong motivations to obtain citizenship earlier I would advise against this as you will have to collect more documents and build a much stronger case. You will be eligible to apply on the 7 March 2025. Unless of course you are married to a British citizen.

It is possible to apply early but it is not advised as you are putting yourself under extra scrutiny and it's not worth it unless you have specific reasons why you need to get citizenship earlier. Best to stick with statutory requirements and avoid raising any eyebrows.

Well noted, thanks all. Better to be safe rather than take a risk, a matter of £1,630.
