Hi, I hope you all are doing good!
My wife and I got our ILR last week and our 2year old kid who was born in the UK is still on Tier2 dependent. I guess our kid is eligible to apply for citizenship and I’m looking for detailed steps on how to apply. Juggling between gov.uk websites and getting lost.
My understanding is we follow below steps.
1. Apply MN1 form
2. Use MN1 form and apply British passport
3. Surrender Indian passport
Am I correct or any more steps ?
Appreciate your help.
Thanks

1. Apply MN1 form
This is the form to register a child as British.
2. Use MN1 form and apply British passport
MN1 form has nothing to do with applying for a passport, which is a completely separate form and process and can only be applied for AFTER the child is approved as British and you receive the registration certifiate.
3. Surrender Indian passport

So, I wasn’t sidetracking in that case. I’ll apply the MN1 first and then continue with the applying British passport and follow the process defined.
Thanks for your reply.

Thank you
Naturalisation Child Requirements of a referee
Each referee should know the applicant personally.
Where the applicant is a child applying, one referee should be a professional who has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, health visitor, social worker or minister of religion.
Form whom should we take this, will the GP or teacher provide her Passport number as this is one of the requirements
Thanks

Having cognisance of difficulties like what you asked above, the HO is not so strict on referees for children.
Persons who know them in personal capacity can be referee.
