Respected all,
I am a spouse of British citizen and I have got my ILR on JAN-24. I want to apply for British citizenship but I am afraid of refusal due to spent 266 Days outside the UK in last 3 years for the below period:

08/08/21 to 14/03/22: 218 Days I was in Pakistan doing my post graduation internship
10/06/22 to 02/07/22: 22 Days Family Visit
10/04/24 to 06/05/24: 26 Days Family Visit
Total: 266 days

The rules are:
1- You must have been in the UK on the first day of your 3-year or 5-year qualification period.
2- You must not have spent more than 270 days outside the UK during 3 years qualification period or 450 Days during 5-years qualification period.
3- You must not have been outside the UK for more than 90 days in the last 12 months.
4- You must not have been illegally in the 3-years or 5-years qualification period.

Based on 3 years qualification period and the intended date of application is 01/07/24 . Do I full fill the requirements?

Why do you think you might not be compliant?

Because I am not sure how HO calculate 270 days in 3 years from Jan to Dec or from date of application to backward 01/07/24 to 30/06/21.

You must have been in the UK on the first day of your 3-year or 5-year qualification period. (I was in UK on 01/07/21)

2- You must not have spent more than 270 days outside the UK during 3 years qualification period or 450 Days during 5-years qualification period. (I was out of the UK for 218 days continuously and Total 266 days in 3 years)

Because I am not sure how HO calculate 270 days in 3 years from Jan to Dec or from date of application to backward 01/07/24 to 30/06/21.

It is date of application backwards.

You are 4 days under the maximum allowed for 3 years and away in the last 12 months for 26 days. So not an issue.
