british citezenship registration questions

Hello All.

I wondered if anyone have been in our situation.

We filled out the application form for registration as a Brit for my wife and daughter, and currently on the payment page. Both have had ILRs since early 2023. They will go on holiday abroad in couple of week's time and will take their passports and BRPs along. We thought it would be wise to submit the application form and attend biometrics appointment before going abroad. Now, it appears to be a wishful thinking, really. The list of documents required includes their current passport and BRPs.

Questions:
Do we have to post documents to the UKVI or they are checked/inspected during the biometrics appointment?
If all documents are checked during the appointment, we could submit the application form and attend the appointment without a trouble. If not, we might have to wait until after the holidays.

I look forward to your advice. Thanks.

No originals are sent or posted. Digital copies must be uploaded. Biometrics is for identity check, finger prints and photos only.

Oh, that's great! Thank you.

One other question, sorry!

As my wife and daughter will be travelling abroad while on ILR after the submission of their documents, will this need to be reported to the UKVI in any way or form? This could be a silly question, but I thought that the UKVI needs to know the number of days applicants lived abroad.

Thank you.

No - travel days after you have submitted the application is out of scope. This could be a silly question, but I thought that the UKVI needs to know the number of days applicants lived abroad. Naturalisation isn't immigration - only absences up to the date of the application are required, not time "lived" abroad. Living suggests residing. It's just days you spent abroad temporarily.

Thank you.
