Do I need to wait

Good morning

My partner has just received ILR after being in the UK for 4 years and 11 months having availed the 28 day concession.

My understanding is that if the spouse visa route was taken to ILR the qualifying period for naturalization is 3 years.

However, whilst completing the application it asks: ''Have you lived at your current address for 5 years?''

If I answer yes, it would be technically incorrect.

If I answer no, it wants a previous UK address.

I am sure there would have been others in the same boat as us and I would appreciate some thoughts on how you went about this.

Are you a British citizen?
If yes, spouse can apply straight away. If you are not a British citizen spouse needs to wait for 1 year since the ILR grant. Route to ILR doesn't matter.

Thanks for your response. I am a British citizen.

Are you suggesting that the question 'Have you lived at your current address for 5 years?' is answered as a 'Yes' despite this not being the case?

You need to answer No and declare where she was living before, even if abroad - that is probably going to be ignored by the HO anyway.
