First adult passport - Different surname to naturalisation certificate

HI. My wife and I recently naturalised (2 August) and would like to apply for passports. My wife received her naturalisation certificate in her maiden name, rather than her married name. We only married a few weeks before our citizenship application. So far, she's only entirely known by her maiden name. She wants to now use her married name in her passport (and going forward, everything else) and I was wondering if there would be any issues if she applied for a passport in her married name (different to certificate)? Of course, we can easily send in the marriage certificate. Thanks!

HMPO may refuse, if her names in her uncancelled foreign passport(s) are different.

Yes, she can apply in her married name. Just make sure you first change her other passport(s) to the married name, and then provide all of them to HMPO when applying for the UK passport, shouldn't be a problem.
