Naturalisation application consideration (unsure due to a few issues- IVA)

Hi,
I am a spouse of a European Citizen and have owned a Settled Status (under the EU Settlement Scheme) since January 2021.

I wish to apply for Naturalisation but am unsure if I should apply now or wait another year to make an application. This is because back in 2018/19 I was struggling with debt and received a telephone call, where the caller convinced me that IVA (Individual voluntary arrangement) was the better option or else I could have CCJ etc. I took the opportunity (which later I i learned should have discussed with family and friends).

Anyway, I have been making payments since 2019 and now it looks as though have cleared everything. At least as discussed on the phone with the company, I am told that IVA details should be removed from my credit file next year (June 2025).

I wish to apply for naturalisation, should I wait for another year or can do it now, explaining that i had these issues but i have dealt with them and have no other adverse issues of any kind?

(as per my credit report, there are accounts with status defaulted since 2019)

If this is the sole issue and you are consistent/on track with the repayment plan then you can apply now.
This is because from your write up you have arrangement in place since 2019 to clear said debt.

I have indeed made monthly payments without any gaps and have cleared it all up except that the accounts still show defaulted on my credit file and I understand that should too go away next year.

should I detail it all in a cover letter?

You could have applied while still paying it.
A cover letter and evidence of cleating the debt/paying it up could be helpful.
