Hi there,

i have Uk settled status, equivalent to ILR, i would like to to apply for naturalization in the future, however i have the following offences:

Exceeding speed limit on a motorway (SP50) 20 March 2022
Penalty points: 3
100£ fine ( paid within due time )

Exceeding statutory speed limit on a public road (SP30) 13 August 2022
Penalty points: 3
100£ fine ( paid within due time )

Exceeding speed limit on a motorway (SP50) 11 July 2023
Penalty points: 3
100£ fine ( paid within due time )

All this speeding was always 8 miles or less over the limit

Failure to give information as to identity of driver etc (MS90) 24 August 2023
Penalty points: 6
Fine 660£ + 330 surcharge ( paid via AOE)

The MS90 was obtained as i moved and changed address on my v5c, but did not update with DVLA ( as reading online having an italian license i could not change the address, i know now you still need to notify DVLA via post, this was my ignorance ). Therefore i did not relpy to a speeding ticket that arrived to my oldaddress on 25/07/2023

Totting up disqualification (TT99) 29 February 2024
duration: 6 months

The rest of my profile is clear as i have great credit score, no other issues with the law. I volunteered with charity organizations in the past 2 years and i will continue to do it in the future

I am incredibly regretful to have caused this, i know this was caused by stress.
I was doing two jobs, one as a restaurant floor manager and working freelance as a business analyst, i had the feeling to be constantly chasing time and appointments, this led to a bit of an impulsive driving style and i paid the consequences

What tipe of impact this is having if i apply for british naturalization?
How long will i have to wait for application to have a good chanche of passing it?
Anything i can actively do in the meantime to strenghten my profile at the eyes of home office?

Provided you don't commit any other offences, I would suggest you may apply in March 2025, 1 year after you were disqualified from driving. I would suggest taking a safe driving course to show your character has changed and sitting again for a driving license exam to reobtain a clean license. If you detail these circumstances in the cover letter and do not offend again I would think it would be reasonable that you have a good outcome.

IMHO, that will be akin to justifying it.
Better tow the path of how you have improved or changed yourself, better driving habits hence why there are no such reoccurrence in period preceeding application.

Include steps you have taken to improve your character (eg volunteering, taking courses) rather than try to justify why you made the mistakes you did.

Will getting my license back, doing a safe driving course ( found a really good Advanced safe driving course from IAM Road Smart, with exam you can pass or fail) and volunteering be good enough, or will i have to show i drove for some time after the safe driving course without offending?

Is it important for the home office to know if i am currently driving/owning a car at moment of application, as during the next 3 years i plan to use public transport: insurance cost will be high with a t99 for the next 5 years

Also i was reading around the forum and other people with a tt99 applied 1 year after conviction and got denied, what about waiting 3 years?

Is there anyone with a tt99 (totting up driving disqualification) that was successful at obtaining citizenship willing to share his experience, I would like to understand what happened, how long they waited before applying etc.

suggest you search the forum, I didn't find a lot of case studies and not all members read each thread regularly so you may or may not get a reply on your specific case.
