Hi,

I got an email from the naturalization office today asking to also provide City of Birth not just the country. I did email them back saying which city i was born and the name of the hospital . But i didnt not attach any proof as I do not have any certificate from the hospital as it was a long time back , I am close to 50 now. the rest of all my documents should be ok hopefully . I didnt expect them to ask for this.

Any suggestions ? Will they refuse my application ?

Thanks
M

If they wanted proof they would have asked for it.

Maybe they wanted name of the town to put it on your certificate?

Did you explain that you don’t have paperwork for this?

In any case this shouldn’t be an issue, not something to refuse your application.

No the person just said we also need the city of Birth not just the country. Didnt mention specifically to send any docs but at the end of the email which i think is default it says send all docs to this email address only.

I just replied saying which hospital I was born and which city. I didnt mention that I dont have any certificate / proof with me.

All my other documents are in complete order. Its just that this city of Birth caught me of guard.

Do I need to email them again saying i dont have it ?

Thanks
M

Does the Home office acknowledge if they have received your email with the details they requested.
I had sent them an email on my city of Birth on 30th August . Was thinking they might send an acknowledgement email. Didn't receive anything. How do I know if they have received it .

I think they normally require a place and country of birth for a naturalisation certificate and British passport.

If you have a foreign passport, then does this have a place and country of birth?

I have an EU passport which only mentions Country of Birth. I replied to the email giving the name of the city i was born in. Its just that I did not receive any acknowledgement reply from them .

They don't normally acknowledge receipt of emails.

Getting a bit stressed out here. Sorry but is there any chance a case worker can NOT get any email reply and if they dont do they send another reminder( email or post ) . I have read a lot of posts here where additional info is being asked with a time limit in place( i didnt get any but replied same day )

As I said above caseworkers don't usually acknowledge receipt of emails. I should think they won't refuse your application if they don't see a reply but rather they would ask again - a very high percentage of these applications gets accepted, and they only get refused if one doesn't meet the statutory requirements.

Hello everyone,

I finally got my approval email from Atlas at 9.00 am sharp today. Thanks for all the replies & support.
Guess I have to wait for the email invitation from the council for the ceremony.

Congratulations!
I'm sure the ceremony invite is not far off.
When you get your certificate check that your city of birth is shown ....
