Help with professional person referee please

Hello there

With regards to the professional person referee, can I use my old psychologist who has a masters degree?

Does it matter what country he obtained his masters? Or does it have to be obtained in the UK?

If he isn't suitable, could I get a reference from an old manager that isn't at my old place of work anymore?

Sorry this is really confusing.

Your professional referee can be of any nationality. Having a masters degree is irrelevant. They need to be a professional who is registered with the relevant Regulatory Authority to practice in their profession.

No such requirement and never has been!

Thank you very much for the reply.

Just to clarify.......

My old psychologist will be allowed to be my professional person as a referee?

Why do you think they can't be? Of course they can provided they are still registered to practice.

A few questions regarding application

Hello there

I have a few questions regarding the application process with UK Citizenship (sorry if some have been answered already)

1) with regards to the declaration letters for my references, do I actually post these to them or do I send it through email? If the latter, then how do I attach my photo to them and also how would they sign them?

2) How do I prove that I have been here for 5 years? And is this mandatory? (This came up on the declaration for what documents I can send ie, passport, brp, etc)

3) you only have to mention that you have been out the UK of a span of less than 5 years. Is this correct?

I think that's it for now

Thanks very much

Hello there

I have a few questions regarding the application process with UK Citizenship (sorry if some have been answered already)

1) with regards to the declaration letters for my references, do I actually post these to them or do I send it through email? Depends on how you communicate with the referees - you can actually hand them over in person if you can.If the latter, then how do I attach my photo to them and also how would they sign them?Referees don't sign the photographs - you just stick the on the form, scan and send or print and hand over.

2) How do I prove that I have been here for 5 years? And is this mandatory? Yes (This came up on the declaration for what documents I can send ie, passport, brp, etc) Your passport(s) covering the residency period.

3) you only have to mention that you have been out the UK of a span of less than 5 years. Is this correct? Yes - for the residency period, i.e. 5 years.

I think that's it for now

Thanks very much

Thanks for all the information. Sorry only replying now, I've been pretty sick.

With regards to the signatures for the reference forms, do I just edit my pic on the form with photoshop, ask them to print it out on their side, sign on the form, rescan and send it back to me?

Also if I read correctly while I was filling in the information online, it says bank statements can't be used for proof of address. Do you think a tenancy agreement would be ok?

Again thanks for the help :)

Do you have any government correspondence (P60s, P45s, electoral registration, etc) with your address on it? That would be the best option.

How long have you held ILR?

What was your immigration route to ILR?

If your passport is stamped everytime you travel, you do not need any other documents to prove residence.

Also, presumably your are South African based on your flag. Have you completed the additional 2 step process (with fees) to retain your South African citizenship? If you have not, you will automatically lose your South African citizenship when you become British, including being able to use your SA passport.

No, tenancy agreements not accepted. Use your passport, scan all pages, if it gets stamped when you travel, or use P60s/govt letters. If all of the above is unavailable request a SAR with UKVI.

Again thanks for the help :)

Is that all you have for letters? two for a period of 5 years aren't many. If your passport gets stamped when you enter/leave, all scanned pages will be enough for proof of residency - letters not needed.
