Hi. I've been granted a citizenship quite recently under 6(1) and currently living in other country. I had to leave UK months after the submission of citizenship applucation for some family matter and attended ceremony for a short visit. Planning to apply my first passport outside Uk but just want to ask if this can be risky?? As I check, only need to send naturalisation certificate and other passport as dual national.

Do not apply for your first British passport while abroad. There is at least one case of this being considered as ground for revoking British citizenship as it is seen as an indication that you are not respecting the future intentions requirement. This applies to you as you applied under Section 6(1). Return to the UK and apply after.

From memory, there have been at least two cases reported on these forums, where HMPO have referred the naturalisation of a person who applied for their first British passport from abroad after naturalisation to see if the person did actually meet the future intentions requirement for naturalisation.

Keep in mind that naturalisation can be revoked if it was found that you didn't actually meet the requirements (including the future intentions requirement). It would be best to apply for the first British passport from within the UK.

Hi, did you apply from abroad - did you have any issues?

As said above - if you got naturalisation under section 6(1), very strongly advise against that as your future intentions could be called into question.
