Naturalisation decision delay

Hi everyone,

My naturalisation timeline is as follows:

- Application submitted 26/04/24
- Biometrics submitted 10/05/24
- Received the standard MMST email on 26/09/2024
- Received an email from ATLAS on 21/10/24 asking to confirm whether I've been known by any other names (despite the fact I answered "No" to that question on the application) replied to them on the same day attaching my original birth certificate and a translated copy of it.

- Emailed them on 28/10/24 and on 04/11/24 and on 11/11/24 and nothing still! I emailed both
citizenship.support@homeoffice.gov.uk and
furthernationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk

- Submitted a complaint on 08/11/2024 on complaints@homeoffice.gov.uk

- Requested a SAR and still waiting for it.

For the record, my immigration history is a straightforward one. Entered the country legally, never overstayed a visa and never breached any visa conditions.

Can I contact my MP or the immigration minister and get them involved or do I need to to wait until I receive my SAR?

Your help is really appreciated

Thank you very much

Follow steps in this guide
https://www.immigrationboards.com/month ... 2bf6dd838c

Please note that every application may follow a completely different timeline, and once queries start there isn't certainty on how quickly the HO will get an answer. There is no such thing as a "straightforward" application. You can email your MP straight away and attach the results of the SAR when you get them.

Thank you very much!

I just have another question if you can assist please. I have been chasing the home office trying to get an update for my application using the emails mentioned here on the forum. I contacted my MP (he said he will contact the home office and get back to me but still waiting to hear from him) and requested my SAR (haven't received it yet)

I have received this email as a reply to one of my several emails sent to the UKVI for an update. However I noticed that the reference number they used is different to the one mentioned on my application. But I received the email as a reply not a separate email.

"Good Morning,
I can confirm from our records that your application for citizenship has been accepted.

We are currently in the process of printing the Citizenship certificate and will promptly send it to your local authority were you can then book and attend your ceremony.

Once it has been printed and sent to your local authority they will contact you and you should also receive a Ceremony Invitation from us.

This may go to your Junk/Spam folder in your emails so please keep a vigilant eye on them."

Now I'm honestly not sure if I really got the approval or if it was a human error! Could the home office change the reference number of an already submitted application?

I contacted my council asking if they have received my certificate but they said I have to wait for a week for them to receive it from the home office

Any advice would be helpful!

Thank you

This is not the approval but it sounds like they have approved the application.
I wouldn't read anything into that email except for the important bit that you will be contacted soon.
Home Office often makes mistakes but we wouldn't know whether it's in error or an actual change.
Suggest you wait a week (as the council said).
