Hi

I am currently completing the online MN1 form to register my child, who was born in the UK, as a British citizen. I hold ILR status. As part of the application process, the first referee must be a professional person. However, I am curious about how the Home Office verifies the profession of the first referee, especially since the form does not appear to include any specific question regarding the referee's occupation.
Any idea please?

Thanks

We don't know how they run their checks. We can only advise applicants they should find a referee with a suitable profession.
