English Language

Hello,
My wife is applying for citizenship.
She has a degree taught in English but outside the UK.
When she applied for ILR she did a seperate English language test to prove language capability.
When she fills the application for citizenship, it asks the following questions for which the below answers are provided:-
Do you have a degree that was taught in English? Yes
Country your degree was taught in? Egypt
Does your degree meet the English language requirement for this visa? No
What will you use to prove your degree taught in English? Degree certificate
Have you provided evidence of your English
language ability in a previous application? Yes
Even after above answers the document lists asks to provide degree certificate and Ecctis letter that confirms the qualification
meets or exceeds the recognised standard of a
Bachelor's or Masters degree or PhD in the UK
AND confirm the level of English to which the
degree was taught or researched.
She doesn't have an ECCTIS letter but a UK ENIC letter of comparability.
I would have thought we could just use the same English test she did for ILR for this as well? Why doesn't it provide that option?
Should we get an ECCTIS letter or should we just provide the results of the test done for ILR application?

Wife can rely on the English test she provided for ILR.
Select "NO" when asked about a degree - it's not an issue.
There should be an option where English has already been provided for a previous application - select that.

Thank you. I will look into changing this.
Also, my application for citizenship was successful however my citizenship ceremony is planned for 29/01.
My wife is planning to submit her application prior to this date.
On my wife's application it asks, is your husband a naturalised British citizen. Since at the time of application I wouldn't have completed the citizenship ceremony she has put in no. It is likely that my ceremony will be held before a decision is made on her application meaning while the application is being processed I would have become naturalised. So is it still okay to say no? Should she add a comment at the end?
Thanks again for the help. Hope the question makes sense.

Why not apply after your ceremony then things are easy - it's only a few weeks to wait. Wait then she can tick YES.
BTW, congratulations!

A second question please. In the section about previous visa applications, should we also include visit visa applications? Currently we have added them in. Should they be removed?

Yes but it's still about 4 weeks away. Currently they are responding to applications between 6-8 weeks. So can save some time was what we thought.

your wife's application may not take that same amount of time at all. She can apply now if she meets all requirements on her own merit and f she so wishes or once you become a citizen - it won't make much of a difference either way.

Thank you,
Just on this to follow-up the previous question, should I say husband is not naturalised? Since at time of application of my wife, husband's application is accepted but citizenship ceremony not completed. Citizenship ceremony will happen while application is being considered.

Your and your wife's applications are individual to each person, you being approved but process not complete is not relevant to your wife's application. Naturalisation is not like visa/immigration, there's no dependent concept.

If your wife is eligible in her own right you having attended the ceremony or not won't make a difference.
